Fans of nerd culture can already celebrate: Eduardo Spohr is among the confirmed attractions for Festival Vida & Arte, which will take place from June 21 to 24 at Centro de Eventos do Ceará. He is the author of great books in Brazilian literature, such as “A Batalha do Apocalipse” and “Os Filhos de Éden”. Spohr will participate in an exclusive panel, along with the writers Leonel Caldela and Kamile Girão, on fantastic literature in Brazil. The debate will take place on the penultimate day of the event, June 23, and will feature an autograph session.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Spohr has been working since 2006 as a contributor to Jovem Nerd blog, in the Nerdcast podcast. From the closeness to the public, he had the opportunity to release his first book, “A Batalha do Apocalipse”. The work was published for the first time in the virtual store of the site and sold almost four thousand copies. In June 2010, the book was officially released for the bookstores and reached, in the same year, a mark of 50 thousand works sold.
Among the influences of the blogger there are great writers of the fantastic universe, such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft. In 2013, Spohr was considered by the novelist Paulo Coelho as one of the stars of this generation of writers still unknown to the general public.
